Erik "Madera's Favorite Son" Baymiller -  14U Girls Head Coach and one of the original coaches

Erik successfully played water polo for four years at Madera High School. He continued his water polo career at Merced Junior College and he was also a member of their swim and dive team.

During his tenure at Merced College, Erik was one of the stand out water polo players. He was the 2nd leading scorer his freshman year, and the following year he led the team to the league championship game. Erik also found great success while competing on their swim team. During his freshman year, Erik won the league championship in the 100 yards backstroke and the 3 meter diving. During his sophomore year, Erik  won the league championship in the 200 yards butterfly and the 3 meter diving.

After college, Erik came back to his hometown of Madera and he started coaching at the local high school. After showing great potential during his first year of coaching, Erik was promoted to the head varsity coaching position. In only his second year of coaching, Erik was now the head coach of the girls swim and water polo team at Madera High School.

In the last ten years of coaching, Erik and Madera High School have won two section "Valley" championships in swimming and diving. It needs to be pointed out that this was the first section championship for aquatics in the history of the City of Madera.

When it comes to water polo, Erik’s teams have won numerous water polo tournaments in central California and Madera High School has captured two league C.M.A.C. water polo titles, defeating two Division 1 opponents to do so.  During the 2019 season, the girls varsity water polo program was for the first time moved up to Division 1 playoffs.

Erik is one of the original PWPC coaches who started the age group program back in 2017. During his tenure as the PWPC coach, Erik coached the 18U girls program and he sent numerous athletes to compete on the next level in college.
